Both use the immediately recognizable art style of Leiji Matsumoto. The character designs are strikingly similar.
- The tall, slender, fragile bass player Stella and Special Agent Joan Randall,
- Tall, masculine space heroes Shep and Curtis Newton,
- Short and chubby drummer Baryl and handyman android Otho.
The space ships and overall animation style are similar as well. Captain Future first aired in France when the Daft Punk members were six and seven years old, so this probably isn't pure coincidence
