Similar tones, similar quirky main characters, both great romance series although REC is a lot shorter. Both are must sees IMO.

Work and music are intertwined in both of these series. In each, the main characters face the challenge of balancing the pressure of their social lives and meeting the expectations of their fellow colleagues. Nodame Cantabile is much longer and contains a considerable amount of comedy,both are enjoyable and entertaining.

The main couple is similar in both animes, both in their personalities and in their dynamics. Both female protagonists are hard-working and are trying to achieve their dreams with great effort.
I like how the intimacy between the characters is worked on, how they can be realistic, funny and dramatic and how we can learn from the characters to be better and go after what we want.
