The main protagonists - Tatsuya and Sagara are both "abnormal" teenagers who are trying to fit in with normal highschool life ... while protecting a girl in the same grade.
In both anime the main character is related to military operations and uses that expertise within their school be it with comedy (Full Metal Panic) or to be badass (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei).
Even though Full Metal Panic mixes in comedy, both animes have a strong cool main character who is dependable when it matters.
-If you enjoy one, you will very likely enjoy the other.

Both Male MC are very skilled at combat fighting, but are socially awkward when interacting with others at school/etc. Both also make it their duty to protect Female MC. Both are involved with military organizations that are sent to do undercover work.
