Similarities:
•Both of the anime plot is somewhat similar.
•Similar feel and setting.
•The idea of demons and heroes are present in both anime.
•The male protagonist are very strong.
•Similar genres.
•About 90% of the female cast has a thing for the main character.
•Both anime are filled with fan service (though Shinmai Maou is more extreme when it comes to this).
Differences:
•In Ichiban Ushiro, the main character is the demon king while in Shinmai Maou the female main character is the next in line.
•Shinmai Maou is a longer series (2 seasons - 20+ episodes) than Ichiban Ushiro.
Overall, I find that these shows don't have too many differences.
