In some ways, I found these two series quite similar.
Both series takes place at a school life setting where the main male protagonist is very independent and has control over his surroundings. However, at times he feels insecure especially in regards with the main female protagonist where he feels jealousy.
On the other hand, the female protagonist in both series are very serious yet kind students at school known strangely for their personalities.
Both series has a general lighthearted setting and mood that mixes in comedy, drama, and romance.
•both anime are relatively the same in genres, shoujo, school life, romance,
•both animes focus on the girl protagonist who, strives to be the best at what she can do, and have nobody to rely on, especially a male,
•both female protagonists have no experience socializing with the opposite sex, they are always afraid of her or avoid her
•both male protagonists are a hanful of mischief, to silently being romantic to acting the complete opposite and causing trouble and confusion for the female protagonist
•they are very similar in the strong minded female protagonist, who unexpectedly makes the male, slowly fall in love with them.
Both have the similar in the slight love plot line.
The main guy character is a boy who won't give up on his love, is a bit mischievous, and extremely direct in the things he says.
The main female character is a girl who simply isn't interested. She finds the guy, annoying. She will soon find that she has feelings for the guy too... but still find that he is unbearable.
Both have the same type of humor in it, if you like one, you will probably enjoy the other.

The two smartest students in the school. The guy always manages to beat the girl :) Nice, cute shoujo anime :)

Haru (the main guy character in Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun) definitely reminds me of Usui (the main guy character in Kaichou wa Maid sama) in that they both tag along constantly with the main girl character and they act strangely around her in order to show that they like her. Also, the girl protagonists in both are stubborn and confused about how they feel about the guy protagonist. Definitely try both if you like romantic comedies!
It has a tsundere-ish female character who puts studies first before friends and social life. Has a sexual pervert as the signifcant other. VERY similar trust me
- Tsundere Female Protagonist
- Reckless Male partner
- Guy likes the girl while the girl just can't be honest with her feelings
- Guy from another school after the female protagonist
They're both hilarious anime but they still have their sweet moments!
If you liked Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, you'll definitely like Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun!
Both have very similar main characters and the pacing of the comedy is similar. Both are romances and the confession comes first from the teenage boy who somehow admires the strong-willed, independent teenage girl. Also, both end somewhat ambiguously but have implied futures. They are somewhat different, I enjoyed them both enough to go back and watch the first episodes again after watching the last.

Both have:
A girl trying hard in school to get a good future.
A boy who does not try hard and is still good at everything.
Both are lovable characters.
Over time they develop feelings for each other ( Male protagonist first)
Both female protagonist attempt to resist but eventually fall in love with the male protagonist.
Both contain some humor and drama.
Both is a 10/10
There is a main female character that want nothing to do with the main male at the beginning, but are curious about the personalty of said male. Through out the story line, the characters grow closer and are in odd situations. Also, the side characters included provide humor that helps make it an enjoyable casual watch.

Both of these animes are very much alike, if you like one of them your definitely going to like the other. The lead male characters in both animes have very similar personalities and make me laugh. The lead female characters in both are similar in the way that neither knows the feeling of liking or being in love with a man. So in both animes this makes it very difficult for the lead male characters to get them to understand that they like them.

Both series have a handsome and quite unique main character guy, with a secret background. Both of the guys are different from the other guys in the series.
Both of the main girls are super focused on their school work.
Both of the series are about romance and school in an very funny way. Both of the series can be pretty unrealistic, but in an entertaining way!

Both have the same romantic comedy genre to it.
Both involves a main female protagonists who interact with a male protagonist who have similarities.
Shizuku and Misaki are both have younger siblings and live with only one parent (mom for misaki and dad for shizuku).
Haru and Takumi are both living 'alone' with their parents unknown and they share a similar trait as a person who like to tease some people. Both also have a 'rival'.
Both have another male friend who share the same goofy but supportive trait. (Sasayan and Hinata in this case).
- similar genre: comedy, romance, school, shoujo
- both heroines are tsundere
- both op themes are good to hear (just my opinion)
