Both series are about the MC joining up with a group of rebels to fight against authority. Both series also have the MC getting to know the members of said group, where you learn about their backstories and whatnot.
The settings are completely different, but I still got the same vibe from both shows. Akame ga Kill is a lot more violent than Angel Beats though.
Rebellions. Angel Beats and Akame ga Kill are both good anime about a group of rebels fighting against some force the hate.
AGK's Night Raid fight against the Empire and their reign of oppression, while AB's SSS fights against Angel, with the objective of fighting against god for the horrible lives that they have given to them before their current habitations in the afterlife.
Both are good action anime with AGK being a dark fantasy about war and conflict, whilst AB is a more lighthearted comedy, about why you should value your life despite all the bad times that have occurred.
