Gakkougurashi and Tokyo Magnitude share similar plot ideas. Each show has a tragic disaster, 8.0 earthquake and zombie apocalypse. The main cast composition is also similar in each series. Gakkougurashi has a group of high school girls and Tokyo Magnitude has an adult and two younger children. Both shows feature survival in different ways of how society would handle tragedy. These shows also have a psychological twist to them and showcase the main characters different ways of grieving.

Gakkou Gurashi and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 are both anime that depict a small group of people coping with the follow-up of a massive disaster. Gakkou Gurashi has a zombie outbreak destroying the society, while in Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 a huge earthquake tears Tokyo down to ruins. In addition to the constant fighting for survival that the characters have to deal with, both shows give hints of the emotional turmoil and denial that some of them experience as a coping mechanism.
Both have a disaster story and will blow you away with their plottwists ;)
