Both movies share many plot elements: alternate history feudal Japan, samurai and ninja in regular and demonic variants, mechanical monstrosities, damsel-hime in distress, demon generals and a GAR hero saving the day. Both offer honest, unironical nudity & samurai violence with ero-guro style demon opponents. Ninja scroll has far higher production values, some comedy and a better story. Karasu Tengu has a full 3 cours series (I haven't seen).
