Hokuto no Ken
|
Both happen in desert. Both have main characters who are unbeatable and their enemies know it. Both characters are also the opposite kinds of moral extremists; Vash doesn't kill anyone and Kenshiro kills everyone who has harmed someone.
The protagonists are very different. Kenshiro is more of a martial, "repent or die" type hero, whereas Vash is more of a mediating/pacifying, Hippocratic oath type of hero. Kenshiro is pretty stoic (in the anime) whereas Vash is very openly emotional and passionate. Both touch on spirituality and morality, although they approach the topic differently. Both are set in post-apocalyptic, barren desert settings, but the abandoned cities of Hokuto no Ken are starkingly different from the bustling Western-cowboy-ish villages of Trigun. Both are unbeatable warriors who are feared by their enemies, but the mystical Fist of the North Star style is the polar opposite of
