I'll be writing this recommendation based on the underlying themes that these shows both represent.
Both explore the concept of learning and experiencing the plight of humanity and the lives of the people in various difficult circumstances the world has to offer. Human connections get tested and the weight of life and death echoes deeply for the main characters throughout their travels. They both also explore the nature of humanity in the cathartic journey to find their subjective form of "paradise" and freedom.

While both shows has vastyle different background settings, the journey of self-realisation and the sporadic meetings and departures from different places, with their friends and aquaintances, does gives off a simillar feel and emotions. If you enjoyed one of the shows, it's very likely you'll like the other.
