It has the same style of music and gives you the same feeling that you are in another capital of one of Europe's countries. It also relaxes you and could be placed in a new genre together with Aria and Ristorante Paradiso.

both are set in European countries Ikoku Meiro no Croisee is set in Paris and Ristorante Paradiso is set in Rome, both have the same music composers which is a blend of beautiful western music with accordion, piano, violin and guitar, both give off the feeling of elite sensations, both tend to explore the different cultures and exaggerate in the artistic values of European things like Food and Architecture

Both share the use of ko-ko-ya composing the soundtrack which accentuates the foreign vibe of their European settings. Plots differ a lot where Ikoku talks about a young girl in the care of a foreign family in Paris whereas Paradiso talks about the romance between a young woman and a mature gentleman in Italy. There are some serious drama moments mixed within their lighthearted slice of life's but they are both very cosy and homely feeling.

Both titles are very similar in their music (apparently they are listed as played by the same band "ko-ko-ya" here in mal). While Ristorante Paradiso is set in modern day Italia, Ikoku Meiro explores 19th century Paris, while sometimes talking about 19th century Japan.
