Kobato and Chobits have many things in commen. Kobato feels like a sequal to Chobits because of its cross overs, just like all the other Clamp titles. They both have a main female character who is "new" to the human world. They both contain heart warming stories. Comedy, drama and a ltitle bit of romance. Kobato and Chobits are great, and are also made by the same author - Clamp!
With some characters of chobits indeed only other names. I saw the apartment in ep 2 and some other same buildings.
Both great series;)
There are many of the Chobits characters in Kobato.
The resedent he stays at is the same, including the owner and her daughters, wich are the chobit twins.
The place where Chi works at is the same in Kobato, the bakery Tirol. Its very amusing and gives it a extra flavor when you notice.
Other than that, there are little simularities story wise. Id say for the overall enjoyment Kobato owns chobits in every aspect.
Both series are very nice, showing a girl who doesn't know the world very well and falls in love with a man who's indifferent (in falling in love). Both have similar graphics and endings.
I find that the main Female characters are similar. Kobato is more cute and inccodent is the respects of the actual content but Chobits is more ingaudging and less light hearted.
This animes have some same producers!
If u watched Chobits u'll probably want to watch Kobato!
Some things form Chobits are the same in Kobato.
They have some sad and happy scenes.
They are very touching too.
Enjoy!
Both of these anime are about a being out of this world trying to be as helpful as possible.
The setting is in the same apartment in Kobato as it was in Chobits, which aired many years before Kobato. Chii from Chobits tries to make the main character happy, while Kobato tries to make everyone happy, which makes the characters likable - while both being a bit awkward and clumsy.
If you like one, you probably will like both, though I will say Chobits is from 2002 so it does not have the best animation, which might put some off. If that isn't a bother

Lots of crossover locales, characters, and thematics that link these two CLAMP titles and both feature growing romance in the heart of an otherworldly & mysterious girl. On top of that Kobato also served to be a combined adaptation with the older CLAMP manga title 'Wish' with Kobato regularly crossing paths with the 'Wish' protagonist, Angel Girl Kohaku and her live-in lover, in the Anime & Manga. Herself receiving some decent spotlight time during the Kobato series run, being especially pivotal in some of the exposition in the final run of episodes. Chobits and Kobato were both well animated by Madhouse, who I really enjoy
