Both MCs are "upgraded" versions of the prevailing humanoid AIs. While their genres are very different, they both explore the inner aspects of AI and asks thought-provoking questions.
Setting-wise, one can argue that Vivy is what Chobits would be like if it was made in the 2020s.

Chobits is softer and lighter, more SoL than sci-fi at times. However, their themes are super similar.
These animes present a really robotic MC that needs to understand what they really are.
Persocom (Chobits) and Artilects (Vivy) are great humanoid robots because they both aren't made perfectly human : They are multipurpose but they have limitations, they have retractable cables, technical issues, and they are relatively fragile. They don't talk and act like a human-shaped human, but like what they actually are, robots with an LLM in it, so they are "realistic" and understandable.
