- Though Beck is more a drama and Agetarou more a comedy both have a good atmosphere and emit this unique non mainstream aura feeling
- relationships are devloped outside from the usual High School box and feel more real and less stereoptyped
- the music itself is good to listen to and will be enjoyed by music fans with a variaty in taste.

Both about music. Beck is more about rock and being in a band while Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou is about being a DJ and an heir to a tonkatsu restaurant. Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou is more lighthearted than Beck, though. Agetarou from Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou and Koyuki from Beck have some parallels; we also see them grow into musicians/artists. Both anime were adapted from manga and then into live-action films.
