Focused on school life and club activities, very stereotypical anime shows in these days.
Sorry to say this, but GA despite the fact that it looked sort of educational, it is not educational. The show fulfill comedy and slice of life genre by showing characters, their relationship, and how they react to each others actions. The slice of life element far exceed the educative contents its offered.For K-ON, of course it is not educational.
The only controversy of finding similarity in K-ON and GA are pace and storytelling style. K-ON is strictly follow 1-2-3, intro-conflict-solution common in slice of life. While GA episode doesn't necessarily has

Well..both r really funny
And have 5 high school girls (from K-ON!, adding Azusa)
The only difference is this is art and K-ON! is music
But they r pretty similar
