I can't really say I understood the story of these titles. But I enjoyed them both for similar reasons.
The kind hearted and somewhat dumb protagonists are maybe somewhat cliché.
But the crazy megalomaniac antagonists were pretty fun. And I loved the action scenes. Where a man can dry the sea by a beat of his fist (Sengoku Basara) or a woman can pull a part of the moon toward the earth surface with a chain (Symphogear)... I'm loving it
I recommend these titles for some nonsensical over the top action.
