It's basically similar theme, and kind of same storyline (but not really). But i find these 2 very similar! and great overall!

These two series has a few strikingly similarities:
- involves the growing relationship between the two main characters
- similar feeling and theme although Ai Yori Aoshi leans more into the drama/romance side
- main protagonist rents a place with other girls
- similar style
If you're looking for more comedy, Mahoraba: Heartful Days is the way to go. For more drama/romance, Ai Yori Aoshi is the ticket.
