Magic-dominated worlds
Discrimination against non-magic users
Main character non-magic users somehow are very powerful
Magic academy setting
Both MCs defeating foes and turning them into their allies
Both have similar premises but with different approaches. If you want something more comedic, go for Mashle. If you prefer a story that carries itself more seriously, choose Wistoria. Wisteria is a 6.5/10 story with a 10/10 production value (animation, choreography, storytelling, BGM, etc.). I'd rather watch something with a cliché premise executed perfectly than something new that falls apart because the director doesn't know where to take the story. Enjoy!
Both MCs can't use magic
Magic Academy setting
Both MC's aim to become the highest title within their respective anime's
Both MC's rely on strength and/or other talents to compensate for magic
Both are set in a magic world like Harry Potter but the MC can't use magic but they make up for it with gargantuan physical strength.

Set in a magical world. The protagonists are willing to achieve the higher of the titles despite not having magic/not able to use it, and they overcomes the challenges they face in their way to their goals. They have great physical strength and try to prove they are as powerful or more than magic user.
Both animes are set in a magic school environment and the main characters are unable to use magic.
Mashle is a much funnier anime series but Wistoria has some good fight scenes.
Would recommend both.
