Both are random, funny with great characters.
Both have aliens and both were being made by Sunrise~
Gintama and Keroro are both very random and very funny. They also share similar parody elements and break the fourth wall all the time. Both have a lot of interesting characters and are episodic for the most part. And of course, both are fun to watch :D
It has lots of parodies to other Anime like Gintama and is just as random

Both shows take place in an alien-infested world; a curious sci-fi universe. While both are primarily comedy gag shows, they have serious moments/arcs - both do it incredibly well, making you laugh to tears and sob to depression at times.
Their comedy is also very similar, primarily when it comes to inside-jokes - you will feel very connected if you've seen shows like Gundam, Ashita no Joe, etc., as the show will make joke-references to them just to cater to a select small group.
Both about alien invasions changing the world in goofy ways.
Both have a slacker but sometimes cool protagonists, who both likes to cheat.
Both a very-capable military-esque side character, a goofy yet invincible feminine character.
Both like to parody/reference Jump shows. More Gundam in the case of Keroro
