Similar feel, art, music and setting. However, Laputa is far superior in every way and if you enjoyed Fractale, you'll be blown away by Laputa.

The plots and the worlds of both series are similar - while Laputa is not as tecnologically advanced and doesn't focus on the whole system's collapse, both have a mysterious girl changing the life of a lonely boy. There are also other similar elements, like airships and a little bit of magic mixed in. And while both series have a similar kind of innocent feel to them, neither is afraid to discuss more adult concepts from time to time (death, destruction, and in the case of Fractale, abuse as well).
