Despite having different subjects and themes, both shows are by studio shaft and share the same gorgeous art style, they also share some of the best dialogue in the entire medium of anime and are both criminally underated series's.

Although their plot is something completely different, thanks to the same director and studio you can feel a similar atmosphere and way of showing story. Both 3-gatsu and monogatari series neatly intertwine dark, deep themes with elements of comedy, although the sense of humor is completely different in them - in 3-gatsu is more warm and cute, while in monogatari it is often based on ecchi, so I can not guarantee that if you like one, you will 100% like the other (in fact, both of them are very specific shows) but I think because of their unusual directory, that it's worth to give a

both are made by the same studio are have kinda similar mcs both really don't have any friends at first and have some skill they are really good at with lion its its shogi and koyomi it was math. Both are/were alone to eventually meet someone that will change them life forever. Its more about there journey both have obvious differences but i do think they have similar meanings at times with pushing through problems and personal trouble with koyomi its his friends problems and lion its his family
