The basic concepts are definitely similar. Both shows feature an unconventional family dynamic made up of two adults in dangerous fields of work (spies and assassins) who end up adopting daughters and the comedy elements revolve around these dangerous people trying to navigate parenthood.
I feel like Spy x Family is more suited to those who prefer more ridiculous comedic elements and Buddy Daddies is more suited to people who prefer comedy that's a little more grounded.
Buddy Daddies is a grittier show with considerably darker moments and themes at times but both are brilliantly funny and surprisingly wholesome.

If you want more of the family stuff while still having epic action, this anime is for you!
Buddy Daddies focuses more heavily on the found family aspect, and it shows the struggles of suddenly having to take care of a child while fending off the dangers of being an assassin.
Spy x Family focuses more on the spy aspect and the dramatic irony of hidden identities. The heavy analysis that the main character goes through in each episode makes mundane situations feel like a secret mission.
Also, the blond hair guy is the one who cooks in both series which I think is kind of funny.
Buddy Daddies is in my opinion a truly wholesome anime i enjoy watching every week. At first i thought it is just trying to benefit off of Spy Familys success by mimicking a similar concept i guess, but i was wrong. Although both stories involve suddenly overtaking the role of parenting the approaches are very different. Where Spy Family has kind of an alterior motive on why they ended up as a family, Buddy Daddies highlights their relationship and love that is growing for miri. In my opinion Buddy Daddies dives deeper into the emotional side of parenting eventhough everything seems fun and nice ep10

If a pair of hitmen/spies/assassins try their hand at parenting, their family is bound to be a little dysfunctional. Yet, it's still an opportunity for emotional growth and finding a loving home. While Spy x Family takes a less serious, and semi-episodic approach, Buddy Daddies provides more progression and backstories in its short runtime.
On the surface, Buddy Daddies looks like a "Spy x Family rip-off," but it's far from it. The only thing they have in common is an adorable child character and the faux-family trope made up of criminals/special ops/secret agents etc. Right out of the gate, Buddy Daddies sets itself apart by how the family comes together. The rest of the series focuses on the hitmen learning to co-parent their new adopted child. It's a touching story with a satisfying ending.

They both involve undercover parents taking care of a child and welcoming a family despite their professions which could get all of them in danger if not careful. I believe that if you enjoy Buddy Daddies, there isn't a way you wouldn't enjoy Spy x Family. They each have their cute moments, and overall, I found them really similar to each other, enjoying the ride all the same!

A funny spy anime show that involves childcare. Both shows introduce dynamics of the two partners, and their newly found family.
Both anime follow characters with not so conventional professions getting thrown into the deep end of parenting
The 2 shows also have a good balence of action packed battles, heartfelt family moments, laugh out loud comedy, and most importantly great character developement
Two underqualified members of the crime underworld are forced to take on the task of raising a small child. Believe it or not, both of these series have this in common. Both shows are quite comedic, with Spy x Family involving a little more drama and romance, while Buddy Daddies focuses more on the daily hijinks of taking care of a little girl. Buddy Daddies is a one-shot with only one season, so if you're missing your Spy x Family fix, then it's the perfect patch for it. I do wish that the animation for Buddy Daddies could've been a little more eye-catching, but it's

2 works similar in their conception, where Spy x Family brings a perhaps slightly more subtle and universal humor, Buddy Daddies compensates with larger emotional sequences!
Fans of Spy x Family, Buddy Daddies will surely delight you!
Both series focus on unconventional family units, adopting a little girl, and similar careers. Especially both Anya and Miri personality being a mess, way of talking, causing tantrums, their cute behavior etc. makes us to like them. Both anime is of sub-genre comedy and gives peaceful slice of life vibes.
a couple taking care of a lovely and imperactive little girl while dealing with their jobs involving murder of people, espionage etc, both of them adding comedy to the whole plot makes it highly entertaining, interesting and lovable
- parents are spies/assassins
- young girl adopted through atypical means
- comedy

People might say buddy daddies is a copy of spy x family but trust me buddy daddies is a great funny anime similar to spy x family but not a copy. Spy x family is about a family not blood related and it is the same with buddy daddies a family not blood related but great. A made up family and a family made because of pity.

They are both wholesome, both have a kid in it, both are spy based, both contain comedy, both have a bit, like the amount of a grain of salt, angst. One can't cook while the other is exceptional!
both shows are about assassin's assassins raising kids but buddy daddies has allot more action

This anime is definitely similar as they both have a (cute) little kid, with parents with secret jobs. In my opinion I do like Spy x Family more but I feel like Miri acts more like a little kid laughing and annoying her parents while Anya is kinda like a mini spy as she has telekinesis. Still love both so if you like Buddy Daddies Spy family is definitely the best series to watch
another assassin/spy show where they adopt a kid this time its less secretive within the family and more friend than romantic interest which imo is better for plot.
They share the same aspect in child care while keeping dangerous and risky jobs. The parents are both slowly bound by the narrative to warm up to one another.
