Both shows are about the journey, both literally and mentally, for their main characters to understand their world and themselves better. Despite the different setting, the emotions which both works evoke is simillar, and the topic of life and death, as well as how you're spending your time between these two undeniable facts is the main focus of the stories, albeit somewhat concealed.
Maybe it's not very similar to each other but I noticed that the main theme in both of them is travelling for different purposes. Fushi wants to become stronger being, Casshern wants to know more about his past and the world. Also both Fushi and Casshern are immortal.
both share goregous af visuals and art as well as lot of philosophical stuff to look at as well too.
