-Both characters go on their journey ALONE (for the most part) for similar reasons
-Both stories introduce many characters in one episode arcs
Casshern's sins does have much less romance than sword art online. It focuses more on people fearing death. Sword art online looks at this a little bit but turns more towards the romance and trying to beat the game.
