These anime have plenty of bishounen and fascinating relationships between the male leads that are sealed in blood. They are about genius-level lead characters who have faced trauma as children. The time period is set in Victorian England for both. They are both dark mystery-solving dramas. If you like one, you are sure to like the other!

- both play in the UK in the 19th century - have some kind of criminal cases, one solves them (Kuroshitsuji) the other plans them (yuukoku no moriarty) - handsome looking characters

They have the same vibe, similar feels to the MC, both situated in 19century England

Victorian England - anime style! Exactly the same aesthetics, except Black Butler is fantasy and Moriarty's not! Both series are packed with handsome & slightly overpowered guys! The extravagant supporting ladies! William Moriarty is like an angelic version of Sebastian! Crimes and mysteries! and a bit of politics somehow!

They both take place in the UK, they are both about crime, and they are both in the same time period.

-both are happening in the 19th century -mystery, shounen, historical -while black butler has demons and YNM doesn't, YNM shows similar scenes where he (the ML) looks like a demon -both are about nobles and their cruelty

if u want a really good mystery set in victorian era u should definitely check out moriarty the patriot and black butler. Even tho the storyline is quite different both have intelligent "evil" mcs and the vibes are similar.

If you enjoyed watching the intelligent, high class, and handsome butler Sebastian solving dirty crime cases throughout the streets of Victorian era London with his young master Ciel, I believe you'll also enjoy watching Moriarty and his brother do the same, as they work to get vengeance on the malicious upper class that wronged them in the past, not much unlike the goal of Ciel. This thrilling mystery-drama show is sure to captivate any crime lovers.

Both have an 1800s Great Britain setting and deal with smart noble young men.

Both have that same mystery feel to it and are pretty dark in their own ways; Moriarty does bad things for a good cause while Ciel does anything for his own reasons. They're both clever and have intriguing allies, and give you a sense that there's a lot more going on than the viewer is being told about. They're also both based in England and are both of high class and well known, though Moriarty plays a sort of Robin Hood as he attempts to give his own fix to the social divide in England.

Geniuses duke it out over the backdrop of 18th century England, betrayal, schemes, and homosexuality follows suit. Gothic vibes in an exaggerated Edwardian(?) period overscored with Death Note esque games of wits.

Both anime take place at the end of the XIX century, in the Victorian era England. They have the same suspense objective with a bit of triller here and there. And finally, they're both Crime anime. Enjoy!

These two anime have the same time background, the 19th century and they both have genius mc. Also, they gave the same vibes while watching it

The vibe of sebastian and william is really similiar. Also both feature main characters who solve cases/dish out punishment in a "under the table, morally/ethically gray" manner.

These animes are both set in England in the 19th century. In Kuroshitsuji, the main character is a 13 year old Earl, while the main character from Yuukoku no Moriarty is actually the villain of the story. Both animes are really interesting and definitely worth watching.

Old English setting (London Bridge is falling down, fall---) with dark ambience, where the protagonists are neither good 'good' or bad 'bad'.

As a lover of dark mystery anime I find Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji) and Moriarty the Patriot (Yuukoku no Moriarty) to be both incredibly intriguing and very similar. Here is why I think so, Genre - I would describe Black Butler and Moriarty the Patriot to be dark mysteries centering around crime (typically murder) with some dashes of comedy occasionally. Time Period - They both take place in Victorian England and even show their own interpretations on the same historical events (those events being the Jack the Ripper killings and The Great Fire of London). Characters - Both main characters are nobles who have, what some may call,   read more

Extremely similar. Both are set in the 19th century England with themes of societal corruption and class struggles. Both explore morally complex characters operating in the shadows—Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler aiding Ciel Phantomhive's quest for revenge in Black Butler, and William James Moriarty, a mastermind seeking to dismantle class oppression in Moriarty the Patriot. Both are separated into "acts". Both have a very dark and mysterious atmosphere Both protagonists often find themselves in conflict with established authority. Ciel works for the Queen but operates on his terms, while Moriarty directly opposes the existing social hierarchy.
