The main characters both share the past and meet again, and they relate with a charm stone. One is a famous actor and other debut with high attention in their career.
The main character has other dreams besides acting. He/she does not think about pursuing the entertainment industry until he/she is influenced by someone. In Love Stage!!, it's Izumi's parents. In Skip Beat!, it's Kyoko's ex-boyfriend. Both characters experience drawbacks and gradually get better as an actor. They have a popular actor as a love interest, who also plays a part in their past somehow. Love Stage! reveals the romantic history in full, while Skip Beat! doesn't elaborate and leaves a cliffhanger.
Well, in Skip Beat! and Love Stage!!, both of the main characters are involved with show biz somehow. At the beginning both of the main characters (Ren and Kyoko, then it's Izumi and Ryouma) don't really like each other but the relationship grows. One of the main differences is that 1. this is Yaoi 2. Izumi doesn't want to be in show biz but ends up in it, while Kyoko wanted to go in (although it was just to get revenge). If you enjoyed Skip Beat and you don't mind Yaoi, then you should definitely watch Love Stage!!
