When I instantly laid eyes on Balsa, she gave me a feeling of a striking resemblance to Kenshin. As I learned more of her past, it only reinforced in my mind how similar these two lead protagonists are and the way they handle themselves throughout their story. Both warriors have made vows of never to kill after trying pasts. They both then commence on a journey to repent for those they have killed by simply saving the life that's right in front of them. Both Rurouni Kenshin and Seirei no Moribito are touching stories of two warriors and how they deal

Beautiful scenery and classic japanese style. Also one of the best animation and design ever.
I've found this one trough recomendations for JK, it is indeed reminds me a lot about Twelve Kingdoms, but that's not all of it. It also reminds me about Mushishi and Rurouni Kenshin.
Mushishi for it's slow, but intriguing pace with lore as a big aspect of the story.
Juuni Kokuki for feudal East setting and fantasy aspects.
Rurouni Kenshin for a warrior, who swore not to take another life.
All in all it is an incredible title.
Both feature a Strong warrior who have vowed not to kill anymore. Both have similar era's, and both of the warriors use their strength to protect the ones around them. If you want to get even more in depth both warriors have a similar back story, where a master swordsman/spearman saves the child from getting killed then teaches them martial arts.
