Both are team sports anime (Bakuten!!'s team has 6 guys, Re-Main's team has 7 guys).
Both main leads go to the first class of high school.
Both main leads went to an inferior high school than they planned, but for very different reasons.
Both have plenty of lighthearted and comedic scenes; these can either stand on their own or can be assumed to lighten up the more serious scenes and themes.
Both anime are well-written, their animation is fluid and the characters are well-drawn.

Both anime are about different school sports clubs with interesting rules (Waterpolo in Re-Main and Rhythmic Gymnastics in Bakuten!!). Both have that friendship between male characters that heals your heart. The main characters were in a period of rehab or rest. Both also have a lot of characters with unique personalities who are searching for that thing they really have a passion for and a lot of self-improvement and teamwork. They only have 12 episodes, but Bakuten!!! also has a movie.
