So many times during the viewing of Vampire In the Garden, I thought to myself, “This feels like a sapphic version of Howl’s Moving Castle, and I love it”. The dynamic of not belonging and going off with some elegant stranger happens in both stories. The relationship development is very similar. The monster forms of our MCs are a bit similar. Both romantic interest MCs are running from their duty & position and must eventually face the music... There’s a background of war occurring during both anime.
If you love Howl & Sophie, you’ll probably love Fine & Momo.
