Howl's Moving Castle is much more interesting than Ponyo, especially the plot, but the drawing style is the same. Also, they are similar in gender.
"Ghibli vibe". Because there honestly isn't anything else to use as a means of relating the two.
They follow general Ghibli tropes of the main girl undergoing some kind of subtle magical adventure usually revolving around the elegant supernatural and meeting friendly dudes on the way who wish to help on the quest. I suppose I could also add to the fact that both anime have the two female protagonists manifesting the ability to shapeshift (not wildly), and the only means for motivation on this adventure, is to turn back to normal.
If Ghibli's name doesn't sell these two movies to you, then I don't know what
