The plot in both Ghost in the Shell and Kara no Kyoukai is lightly similar, you have a group of people out to save the day. -simular philosophical themes
-both Main characters are trapped in a artificial body
-both feature pretty well directed fight scenes and solid animation
While “Ghost in the Shell” is sci-fi and “Kara no Kyoukai” is supernatural fantasy, they both tackle heavy and monumental philosophical themes like identity, mind-body dualism, motivation. They spend a great deal of screen time depicting the scenery around in which the tone is somewhat melancholic. The two heroines, Shiki and Motoko, are also eminently similar in both appearance and personality.
