- Both have friendly female main protagonists who live in a house full of spirit boys.
- They try to clean the house while teaching the boys what it means to be human.
- The beginnings are exactly the same: both are orphaned pretty much, due to the deaths of their parents. In Fruits Basket, she stumbles upon a house in the forest when she was trying to build her own tent there on a rainy day. In Momochi, the female main protagonist inherited the house.

The tropes are quite similar: an orphan girl moves in with a bunch of supernatural guys. Momochi house is a more light-hearted anime than Fruits Basket, the romance part is cute and overall, well executed in 12 episodes.

- Both have protagonists who are high school-aged orphans
- Both feature said MC suddenly finding herself wrapped up in wild supernatural happenings
- Both feature a supporting cast of attractive male characters which the protagonist ends up living with
- Both have a running joke where transformations leave the characters without their clothing
- Both feature stubborn main girls who refuse to abandon those they care about even if it’s dangerous (although Tohru is definitely more stubborn than Himari in that regard)
