A psychological thriller that focuses on human nature and violence. It puts people into a situation that tests their morality in order to survive. The main characters are very similar and they are both action-packed and mildly disturbing.
In both these animes, the main characters are forcefully removed from their realities and forced to live in a survival "game"

Both main characters get involved in a game where they have to kill others for their survival.
Both are gritty survival games with an imperfect protagonist. Similar themes, characters, and overall feeling.

The theme involving a group of individuals in a dangerous game for survival is present in both series. The main protagonist's life is suddenly thrown into chaos as he is put into such a dangerous game.
Both series has the main protagonist who meets a young girl early in the series and has strange interactions with her.
Both series contain a lot of action, drama, and violence.
Both series also has a mysterious like atmosphere that holds a secret to the true purpose of the game.
Survive or morality? Two survival animes which tests morality and will of life, but GantZ is focused on aliens and Btooom! on man vs. man fights.

i was always trying to find an anime that is like gantz and even though btooom is less gory and less nudity, btoom is probably the closest anime to gantz, so if you like btoom, gantz should be on your list, both about people getting into games they never wanted to be in
They boy share the idea for survical, BTOOOM! is more of a game (is you watch it you will know what i mean) and Gnatz is more of bounty hunting for eliens but it has a twist to that.to me, they have a good story line but the manga for Gantz goes beyond the anime.
In both anime the main characters are forced into a life or death game that questions morality, society, etc. Both are also somewhat gory (Gantz being more). So if you love psychological thrillers, check it out!

Gantz is also like a game where you have to kill others using special weapons.
-Both have similar atmospheres
-Both have roughly the same setting (fight for survival)
-Both can be pretty disturbing to some people
Gantz is much more gory, but they are both psychological and focus a lot on morality, so if you liked one, you'll probably like the other.
Strangers are collected in order to play a game of death. They don't kill each other, but monster and ghost like creatures. They can collect special weapons along the way. Violent, bloody and plenty of surprises. There's even a live action mover (that was terrible.)
The players and the creatures they fight are invisible to regular people, but the damage caused in the aftermath of their battles is not.
Both main characters suddenly are forced to survivel in a like a game situtation(in btoom its from a game but it came to reality and in Gantz its the reality that became like a game)
Both main characters are Badass and they share a lot other similarities on character.
Both anime have "bad" endings(In case of Btoom it needs a second season but in case of Gantz it had an alternative end from the manga).
Both Heroines from the start they dont love the main character(I am not so sure about this but at Btoom the heroine starts to love the main character at the end but

In both series the main character is thrown in a situation where they have to survive by killing or be killed. Though some aspects of the series are unlike the other, while watching Gantz it gave me a similar vibe as to when I watched Btooom!
Gantz and Btooom! both have people who are thrown into a survival game against their will. They are both psychological shows with lots of action, violence and gore. Both main characters were not the best people in their regular lives but through out the shows they start to develop and become better people and they become more strategic and used to the situation they’re in. The protagonists almost kind of look like each other as well. The people in the game have to use the weapons they are provided: bombs (bims) in Btooom! and high tech power suits in Gantz. The difference is in Gantz,
