Relatively unknown Chinese animations with similarly styled stunning painterly background art, blending together traditional Chinese aesthetics and fantasy.
Wu Shan Wu Xing is action-heavy and intense with spectacular fight choreography, while Bai Niao Gu is mostly pensive and low-key while building intrigue - but the one short fight scene in Bai Niao Gu shows off its smooth stylized animation.
Chinese animation looking kinda good. Fluid and epic. No sign of taking shortcuts around here.
Both are pretty good shorts that have a lot of references to Chinese culture and just the showcasing what the awesome power of animation can give to an audience. Maybe both can be considered a little deep too depending on a few scenes...
