Both anime feature a protagonist who tries to be prepared for lots of possible scenarios. Both are very serious individuals who can come off as uncaring when they really are caring.
Another fun thing is that both protagonists have the same VA, so you'll end up thinking of the other protagonist when watching (lol).
It's similar in the way that both protagonists focus on one thing and whole series is about it. Shinchou Yuusha takes more comedy/parody approach while goblin slayer has much darker theme.
