Both are filled with comedy, although of vastly differing genres, but the biggest similarity between the two remains the big draw of in show music, and this is where both shows sign. K-ON has sort of half over detailed concert/music video, while DMC has the crowd's reactions to unusual stage events, which remains the funniest thing about DMC. Fans of these probably won't overlap, with K-ON picked up by S-O-L fans and DMC by fans of Cromatarie or metalheads, but while DMC is pure untampered awesome, K-ON's awesome-ness doesn't really show until you think about how much you are enjoying a story about 4 girls

Although different by music genre (metal/rock), both comedies are about music band and relationship between band members and people around.
Both are great show about music in their way.
And you might find Krauser-san where you expect him the least.

Both shows follow two bands that display the absolute brutality that music can offer. It's almost unbearable to watch, but in terms of intensity, K-on edges it out for me. Sawako could've easily have been in Detroit Metal City. She would fit in perfectly. If you watch both shows back to back it may blow your fucking mind. Make sure grandpa isn't in the room, otherwise his penis may fall off and his heart WILL explode.
