Absolutely masterful 3DCG works in an industry that seems incapable of producing quality 3D products. Both of them have great soundtracks and a colorful cast. Dorohedoro is much more gore intensive and Houseki no Kuni is pretty much PG but they're both written for a keen, audience with vivid directing.

Both are fantasy anime that fall way out of line with the seasonal isekai and more traditional fantasy like Tolkien.
Both could be considered post-apocalyptic even though they do vary greatly in tone.
Both feature some very well fleshed out characters and humor played out alongside intense action.
Both have very memorable soundtracks, Dorohedoro's being plain weird and wild, while Land of the Lustrous' is down right beautiful.
Both utilize CGI to their advantage, I can't imagine LOTL being done with 2D at this point.
Both are perfect for fantasy fans who want a break from "waking up in new world" and like the originality seen
