Both are powerful bittersweet tales about a character moving on from their parents deaths and learning the ropes of guardianship as they begin to take care of another. Gakuen Babysitters differs as the protagonist becomes the guardian of his younger brother and begins working as a babysitter for a school. While My Roommate is a Cat involves the protagonist looking after a pet cat. If you enjoyed the sweet, heartwarming environment one created you will likely enjoy the other as well.
Both of these series show our protagonist having to process and deal with getting on with life after the passing of their parents, through looking after another. In Gakuen Babysitters, this is a younger brother, in my roommate is a cat, it’s a cat. Gakuen babysitters has a slightly more light hearted feel, but both are cute and heart warming.
