Vampire in the Garden and Devilman: Crybaby have bleak storylines that explore the Us-vs-Them mentality between humanity and demons/vampires. Our protagonists in Vampire in the Garden are trying to break free from this the cycle of hate by escaping society, but are pursued because of it. Our protagonist in Devilman: Crybaby is trying to end the cycle of hate by overcoming hate and protecting society, but is persecuted for it. Both anime also has an underlying LGBT theme that motivate the main characters (Ryo/Arkira and Fine/Momo).

they both follow a strong core of love and its importance throughout, well, basically, everything. if i'm being honest, if you've seen one (especially devilman), you've probably seen the other; they may feel almost annoyingly similar. but even still, i think they were still well worth the watch on their own and/or intertwined. if you enjoyed one, i'd bet i could guarantee you'd like the other too
