A youth, due to various circumstances, is on an aimless journey around the world they live in. The series tells the stories of their adventures and the day to day lives of the people they meet.

Either series stars a character who albeit their status/skills/abilities, takes more of a back seat during storytelling. The lead travels to different countries and explores/solves/experiences events pertaining to the location, some local legend, story or rumor. Usually, the episodes are novel-esque self-contained tales with a twist and/or some moral to tell, often opting to subvert expectations. Neither series caters to illusions about human nature. Episodes can end equally happy or sad, grim or thought provoking.

Episodic adventures following a travelling character. Characters are both intriguing as they do not follow the usual MC formula. Elaina being slightly more self absorbed and Kino is slightly out of touch with emotions. Both encounter darker themes and life threatening situations. Both look good Both also follow a theme of this city ... then that city. With a very slowly developing underlying plot... however it is not the forefront of the anime. Not the driving force.

-Both about the main character who goes on a journey to travel. They never stay in one spot and explore the different cultures and lives of other places. -Both animes are very chill, refreshing anime filled with excitement and curiosity of what the new location and people they will meet be like -A lot of their adventure is either dark/mysterious or heartwarming -Both meet meaningful connections with characters and are off again to find their next destination

Both series follow the main protagonists on a journey throughout their respective worlds. However Kino delves more into dark themes and how looks can be deceiving to the eye, whereas The Journey of Elaina is more light hearted with comedic themes with a light touch of dark themes. Both are nice if you interested in something that isn't story plot heavy and relies more on its characters to keep the show entertaining.

As I was watching this show it reminded me a lot of this show that I had seen a while back. Both are traveling/ adventure-based and revolves around dealing with new people, places, and experiences. Pretty pog

Dashing art depicting stories of girls travelling after learning from their masters. Elaina and Kino interact with people in various places with different traditions and customs and leave feeling more experienced. So do the viewers if they pay close attention.

The similarity lies in the main character who travels around their world and encounters -both beautiful and heartbreaking- stories. The difference between these shows is the transport by which they travel. So travels the Wandering Witch by broom and Kino by his talking motorcycle Hermes.

Everyone who have watched this will have the same thinking and recommendations. Try this both, cause both is an adventure anime, adventure from one country to another country, the slice of life, the fun. Both have unique world building and a little good improvement for the main heroine.

A traveling girl goes to various different countries, spending a couple days in each and observing their unique customs which are metaphoric of the real life controversial nature/actions of humanity and its concepts. Both series have bright slow paced atmospheres, character designs, and presentations. The girl only ever observes from a neutral perspective without interfering and the stories revolve predominantly around the people who she meets and their circumstances rather than the MC herself. I consider Kino's Journey to be the spirtual predecessor to Elaina.

Both are about a girl who goes out to explore different countries and the things she learns from each country through the people she meets

the main characters in both anime explore various places with stories from those places too, of course.

Both animes include the main character adventuring the world for their own reasons. They also have some stunning animation and wonderous protagonists. We have Elaina on her magical broom, and Kino on Hermes. Neither of them contain real plot, but are shows to watch if you just want to chill and relax, without needing to take anything seriously.

Both shows are essentially identical in storyline and plot of a traveling girl observing metaphoric representations of human nature through the countries she goes to and the people she meets.
