- Special Mary Sue with super special power to see spirits, very kind very quiet very used to being alone
- Sudden marriage to mean looking supernatural entity, but haha it's okay because they can be really good looking haha
- Male MCs are really creepy and say unacceptable thing but haha it's okay because they're good looking and aren't human haha
- Make lots of other supernatural friends along the way
KnY protag is more plucky than MnY as a result of a more healthy upbringing, MnY protag is extremely emo. Both have tragic pasts enhanced by cringeworthy writing.
KnY is set in Japan with Japanese supernatural creatures

If you like one, you'll surely like the other. Both are about clueless, extraordinarily weak-willed and naive girls who secretly have incredible spiritual power who are taken as brides by youkai. Despite my obvious disdain for the MCs in both series, I love this plot and these series are both 10/10 for sheer enjoyment. The MC may be dumb but the rest of the characters are what makes these shows fantastic.
Both series also have excellent quality animation. Mahoutsukai no Yome has some especially dramatic and gorgeous scenes toward the end of the series but both are lush and beautiful!!

Spirit (esque) creature plans to marry a human girl.
Lots of supernatural friends are made.
Beautiful artwork
Literally the same concept of a young girl ending up in a fantastical world with mystical creatures and people and falls in love with a non-human but kind hearted man while also trying to find their place in said world.
