Both stories have a similar premise except it's the complete opposite where the teenager is crushing on the adult. However, After the Rain is more focused on character growth than romance. Not to mention Akira and Kondo are well-written characters.
If you do enjoy Koi to Yobu or not, then give After the Rain a chance.

Contains a romantic premise of a person hopelessly pursuing their loves towards a person who is much younger/older than them. Although the said premise is romantic, none about these two series feels erotic nor sensual as it mainly focuses on dramatic aspects (After the Rain) and comedic concepts (KoiKimo).
