From both of these series, the main male protagonist meets the main female protagonist where the two forms an peculiar relationship - sometimes serious, sometimes competitive against each other, and sometimes romantic.
Both series also has other love triangles in a lighthearted way.
Both series also has some misunderstandings that causes tension in various episodes.
In both the girl is very hard-working and, still, is overrun by the guy who succeeds without even trying.

The girl is competitive and doesn't like losing especially to the guy. The guy, on the other hand struggles how to make her fall for him. Though, in my opinion, Kei is sweeter than Haru because Haru is immature and Kei is so "I like you Hikari. Why can't you see?"
