Both involve girls either coming from a different social class (Emma) or a different country (Ikoku Meiro no Croisee), and their interactions with a new, unfamiliar setting. In Emma, Emma is a maid who catches the eye of high social class standing William, and in Ikoku Meiro no Croisee, Yune, a young Japanese girl, must adjust to her new country, France, and is also employed as a maid at a shop owned by a young man, Claude Claudel. Both have their own appeal as well, the story of both is quite touching and the music adds to the uniqueness of both.
