Same kind of setting, with one centered on a Japanese restaurant/cafeteria and the other centered on a Japanese pub. Both have their doors connected to another world.

These two anime can't help but invite comparison to each other. Isekai Izakaya is more on the food porn spectrum whereas Isekai Shokudou is more about how food changes the customers' lives. But the bonus ending material of Isekai Izakaya makes it worth watching- there is either a reimagined recipe or a guided trip to a specialty shop that sells the food in the episode.

Because of their similar premise and overall feeling. Good mood; relaxing vibe; fantasy worlds; Japanese restaurant food.

If you have fun watching to how people from isekai react to "our" (japanese) food. The unbelievable feeling of experiencing a certain type of food the first time or seeing someone orgasm after eating ordinaryl beans then these animes are for you. One would think why make another anime that is just like Isekai Shoukoudou, but they do have their differences. Izakaya focuses more on the food while characters are more in a background and food is the main focus. Isekai shoukoudou focuses more on characters and their background and how they managed to find their way to "this" restaurant and meeting all the other people   read more

Both stories are about a japanese restaurant thats connected to another world. The customers in both stories are always impressed by the food served there. The dishes are always looking tasty and superb. If you like anime with tasty looking food there these are for you.

Same setting of a food place with a magical door linking to an isekai world. Both owners able to get food from their own world through the back door. Main difference is one tailors to Western food whereas one tailors to Japanese food. Izakaya is lively in atmosphere whereas Shokudou is more refined in the sense it's like something out of a fairy tale book. Izakaya has bonus features at the end of an episode using real life footage of how to make foods or showing food places to visit in Tokyo whereas Shokudou doesn't.

Isekai Shokudou and Isekai Izakaya, as well as having a really alike name, share the concept of tasty-looking food given to people living in other worlds (Isekai). While Isekai Izakaya is linked to one specific medieval world, Isekai Shokudou is connecting to multiple worlds and contains more mystery and magic. Most of the episodes of Isekai Izakaya happen in the pub, while Isekai Shokudou focus a bit more on the different protagonists and their specific worlds - until their arrival to the restaurant. Both show put lot of importance into the food, from the way it looks to the tasting-review. As a bonus, Isekai Izakaya comes   read more

It's nearly the same thing, but I have too say, that I like Isekai Shokudou better.

This anime is the same as telling about a restaurant connected to another world. I like this type of anime when I'm relaxing, it's just good

Similar laid-back food vibe. Izakaya takes a slightly different approach and has some real-world segments, which get more fun as the show goes on. Give it some time, but Izakaya really grows on you! The recipes they show feature mostly traditional Japanese dishes, but a wide variety of them.
