Both are the stories of high schooler's attempts of figuring out what "love" the emotion means.
Gimai Seikatsu is a show that mainly speaks trough visuals and lacks the kind of in-your-face dramatic scenes that Kuzu no Honkai is full of. Still the superb visual directing creates tensions that echo the drama of Kuzu no Honkai, while being very distinct in it's calmness and generally likeable side cast compared to Kuzu no Honkai emotional tornado.
Both also end up being very light in any proper romance.
