Both anime are tooth-rottingly sweet about father-daughter style relationships while also having a cooking or gourmet component.
Gourmet, Slice of Life and Iyashikei (healing), childcare, and a girl with a romantic interest in the male lead. They both have similar vibes in my opinion. Neither shows are story-driven, I would say, but are just slow-paced gourmet slice of life shows. However, I would say the characters aren't similar.
In Sweetness and Lightning, the main character is a single father who is employed as a teacher and struggles to cook for his daughter.
