- The most obvious similarity: they were both directed by Shinkai Makoto, and both have their supernatural elements done CORRECTLY (we won’t talk about the 2019 trash fire).
- They’re both likely to make you cry.
- They both involve romance, although Kimi no Na wa focuses more heavily on it, while Suzume no Tojimari is more of a coming of age story.
- They both have gorgeous visuals and beautiful soundtracks.
Both Suzume and Your name have both AMAZING storylines, plots, and animation. Both wonderful movies.
- same director: Makoto Shinkai
- aesthetically pleasing artwork with gorgeous landscapes
- fantastical elements that have some tie to nature that are rooted in mythology
- romance
- the main characters being separated to some extent by the fantastical element

Both of them are directed by Makoto Shinkai and have supernatural events. Also the music is from the same group and the animation is equally beautiful.
