Gintama's "Porori-hen/Slip arc" can be compared and give off similarities to Koyomimonogatari as in both of these can be viewed as more "filler-like" compared to the actual series (Gintama/Monogatari) and feel more like nice little side stories that aren't a necessity. (The last 2 episodes of Koyomi are recommended though)
A fairly large amount of the cast from previous seasons are shown which can increase enjoyment if you are a fan of the series.
