- "cult" (I know Devilman Crybaby was recently released, but the devilman franchise is definitely a cult)
- Sometimes hard to understand, but still pretty cool and it definitely makes you think
- somewhat similar art style (but while in Belladonna the color palette is mainly composed of light colors, in Devilman it's dark colors)

They both state sex as one of the human's main instincts created to forget sadness and human feelings, because "wild violence and sex are reserved to demon/devil". But that's not true: we are the demons, "demons" are only the depiction of our wildest desires, we have lots of understatements about lots of the social problems and we avoid them thinking about pleasure. In Belladona of Sadness, specifically, it applies to the female role in the Medieval Period.
They also have a really unique style.
